Connect Your Land Beyond Public Network Coverage

The Montek Communications Module connects field personnel, sensing devices, edge computing equipment, and the management platform across remote landscapes. It supports landowners and managers of private land, protected areas, national parks, forests, and wetlands where public network coverage is limited or unavailable.

Montek combines LoRa, FSK, and 5.8 GHz microwave links with gateways, repeaters, and supplementary connections. Different links carry different types of information—from location updates and emergency alerts to sensor readings, AI results, imagery, video, and operational instructions.

Mesh Networking and Repeaters

LoRa links carry small messages over long distances without relying on mobile network coverage. They support personnel location updates, emergency alerts, sensor readings, equipment status, and compact AI detection results through devices such as Montek Beacon and field data collection units.

Montek’s FSK links connect field terminals and base stations to carry edge AI results, image excerpts, acoustic data, and mobile equipment records. They support devices such as AI cameras, camera traps, acoustic monitoring equipment, and patrol or rescue vehicles.

Microwave links connect field stations, remote nodes, and regional data collection points where suitable line-of-sight paths are available. They provide backbone transmission for video, imagery, aggregated equipment data, tasks, and control instructions.

Meshtastic-based mesh networking allows LoRa devices to form a network and relay messages through multiple hops. Montek Repeater extends coverage across valleys and forested areas, while solar power supports long-term field operation.

Connect Field Personnel, Sensors and the Management Platform

Montek Beacon supports personnel location reporting and one-button emergency alerts. Field data collection units connect environmental sensors, including RS485 and Modbus devices, to transmit water levels, rainfall, soil conditions, weather measurements, and equipment status.

LoRa gateways, FSK base stations, and microwave nodes bring these different connections together. They link local field networks with the backbone and management platform, allowing observations to travel from the field to managers and tasks or configuration instructions to return to connected devices.

Support Connections Across Complex Terrain

1

Airborne Relays and Supplementary Links

Where terrain blocks ground connections or remote work points are difficult to reach, airborne relays and supplementary satellite links can be incorporated according to site requirements. These connections support field operations and emergency tasks by carrying alerts, imagery, equipment status, and operational instructions.

2

Priority Alerts and Network Monitoring

Montek supports alert prioritization, delivery acknowledgments, automatic retransmission, and device status monitoring. These mechanisms help urgent messages reach their destination and allow field teams and managers to check delivery and connection status.

By making network and equipment conditions visible, Montek supports routine maintenance and sustained field operation.

From the Field to the Platform

Personnel locations, emergency alerts, sensor measurements, equipment status, AI detection results, images, and video travel through the appropriate links to support monitoring, assessment, and response.
